Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 for an Olympic sport. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics coach when she was just six years old. She competed for the very first time at the national junior championships, placing 13th. After that she won the title of champion. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meeting for communist countries she was awarded three gold medals while in 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. When she competed for the first time as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva. She was the five-time European champion winning four gold medals and one silver. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman to attempt a backward double salto as dismounting off the bar that is uneven. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career as an entertainment professional during her teenage years. During this time, she appeared as an ice skating duo along with the sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6, 1942, at Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her professional career in the entertainment business when she was a teenager. When she was a child she began her journey as Figure Skating Performer alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. The show featured dramatized ice skating performance.
