Laura Linney was one of the best American actors of recent times. Her savacious and vulnerable roles has made her a household famous. Her father was a celebrated playwright. However, she was raised as an only child by her single-mother who was a nurse. During the summers and with her father Linney discovered a love for theater. Linney eventually pursued acting first in Brown University then at Juilliard School. Within a mere two months after graduating the actress began her Broadway career. In the following year, she made her debut on film and television. Since then, she's performed in many films and TV and stage productions. In her long professional career, she's received many awards, which includes the two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Though she was awarded numerous prizes throughout her career, theatre was always her primary passion.
